The Unheard Of: Part 3

RIIIIiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnggggg!

The loud school bell startled Savia in her chair. She was in the school cafeteria, and had stared off into space before the bell snapped her out of it.

Today is her very first day in a public school. She was very nervous getting onto the school bus, she was assigned a seat. Which she was secretly grateful for, it kept her from asking someone to let her sit with them.

The breakfast was okay, but she was too nervous to really eat. Savia got up after the bell to get to class rang and took care of her food tray. She put her bookbag back on and headed down the hall. All the other kids were talking to friends or rushing to get to class. Savia wasn't in a rush, she was a bit scared. What was going to happen in there? Would the other kids like her? Would they bully her like kids on TV bully each other? Would she make even one friend?

Savia reached the classroom and looked up to the teacher, who smiled and had Savia come to her desk. The teacher seemed nice

RIIIIiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnggggg! The bell to start class had rung. The students took their seats, except Savia. The teacher wanting to introduce her to the class.

"Alright, everyone, we have a new student joining our class. Everyone say hi to Savia." The class said hello, this attention made Savia a bit uncomfortable. The teacher looked to Savia. "Tell us about yourself, dear, don't be shy."

The teacher's encouragements didn't help, she was still uncomfortable. "Um...i….uh…." Some kids started chuckling, which made her feel more insecure. The teacher picked up on it and just had Savia sit in the empty desk after putting her things in an available cubby. Savia sat at the desk and once lessons started, the uncomfortable feeling went away.

Now, Savia's curse to be a human child was thorough on just about everything. Her behavior, her attitude, her lack of violence. She was practically a human child, except that she still held the knowledge from hundreds of years! She was actually very smart.

Some students found her smarts mind blowing, but some found it to be annoying. Found Savia to be a nerd. At recess, when everyone ran off to play with their friends, she found a spot to sit and just doodle. With every school, there are always a handful of mean children. Little bullies. For Savia, her bullies were a small group of girls. The ones that found her to be a nerd. They came over to taunt her.

"What are you doing, Saliva?" They purposely said her name wrong.

"It's Savia." She corrected. "I'm just doodling, did you all want to doodle too?"

"Doodle? What is this, art class?" One of the girls replied and the others laugh. "Can I see what you drew?"

Savia was hesitant, but handed the drawing up to let the girl see. The girl and her friends looked at it and chuckled. "You're a terrible artist, but I know just what this needs to make it better." She tells Savia just as she rips the drawing in half & drops it onto the floor. "There much better."

"Hey!" Savia frowned and got up to collect the pieces. "That wasn't nice!"

The girls laugh. The other takes Savia's crayon box, as she collects the papers, flipping it upside down to pour the crayons onto the ground. Tossing the box away. "Have fun cleaning up, /Saliva/." The girls laugh and walk away.

Savia glares at them as they walk away. She may not have a demon's temper right now, but she does love to get even. After collecting her things, Savia snuck back to the classroom.

Savia remembers where the girls sat and grabbed a tube of superglue from the teacher's desk. She put the clear glue on the girls' seats and returned the tube like nothing happened. When the bell to return inside rang, Savia quickly sat at her own seat and pulled out a book. Pretending to have been reading.

When the girls walked in, they snickered as they passed Savia's desk. Savia lowered her book and watched the girls sit down. She smirked and turned back to face forward.

Class continued on, and Savia almost completely forgot about the glue. Until one of those girls was asked to come up and write on the whiteboard. But she couldn't get up, she was stuck to the chair. When she couldn't get up, the class started to laugh. Until the girl got so freak out, she was crying. Then the only one laughing was Savia, which gave her away.

Class ended early so they could get all of the girls unglued. The teacher and school nurse had to cut around the part of their pants that was stuck to the chair. Savia was given in school suspension and a call was made to inform her current guardians. Which the only ones listed in her contact information was Echo and Blue, since Echo had asked for Blue's help months prior. Both of them would receive the voicemail.

After school, Savia was walking back to the bus. The girls, now in new pants, confronted her before she made it.

"You thought that was a good idea? That it was funny?" One of the girls started. "You're in for a rough school year, now." The girls then tried to shove Savia down, but Savia still has that protection spell on her. When the girls tried to lay a hand on her they were knocked roughly back. Savia was unaware of the spell and jumped back. Instead of getting onto the bus, or waiting for a teacher to come back, Savia ran off. Not wanting to get in trouble, because she didn't even know how she did that.

Savia ran straight home and to her room. She closed the door and his back under her bed. She often hides under her bed when she is uncomfortable. Something about the dark, hidden space just made her feel better.

Savia doesn't want to come out, she doesn't want to return back to school.

Echo arrived at the house, because of the voicemail she received, and began looking for her. "Savia? I know you're home. Where are you?" She asked in concern. Walking in the room, Echo almost walked back out. Until she saw hair sticking out from under the bed, and sat down next to her. "Can we talk about what happened today?"

Savia was quiet for a moment. "I hate school, I don't want to go back!"

Echo sighs and shakes her head. "I think I know what's happening, they were mean to you, weren't they?"

"Just these girls. I didn't even find out their names. They ripped up my drawings and spilled out my crayons and called me Saliva!" Savia tells her.

"Is that why you glued them to their chairs?" Echo asks.

"Yes...but then something happened.." She said softly.

Echo didn't get called about that and wasn't sure what she meant. "What? What happened?"

"They were about to shove me, but something shoved them. I-I didn't touch them, I promise." Savia exclaimed.

Echo nods and sighs. "Come here, kid. I know what happened."

"You do?" Savia popped her head out from under the bed. Echo gestured her over. Savia sat beside her. "Tell me, tell me!"

Echo smiled and nods. "See, when Blue and I found you, well, we were worried you could get hurt. We both deal with bug, bad evil things and didn't want you getting hurt. So we cast a protection spell, no one can touch you. However, you also can't hurt anyone else either."

"Really? That's cool? Can we try it out?!" Savia asked excitedly.

"No, I don't think so. Savia, you got in trouble today. I know they were mean, but you can't glue them to their chairs. Their parents are upset about what happened to their pants and you're looking at being out of school suspended. I'm sure they called Blue, and she may want to talk to you too. Pranks should be left for at home." Echo tells her.

"So I just...let them be mean to me?" Savia asks.

"No, of course not. You inform a teacher or principal or guidance counselor." Echo tells her. "They can't help you if they don't know."

"So I become a tattletale?" Savia makes a face.

"You're not becoming a tattletale. You're making school a safer place for you and the other students." Echo tells her. "And you keep yourself out of trouble. All those girls can do is say mean things, that doesn't mean they're right. You're a strong and amazing kid, you just made a bad choice."

Savia frowns. "I'm sorry. They were just so mean and made me angry."

"I know. I've worn glasses for a while, though I have contacts now, I didn't use to. Kids would call me four eyes and it would make me so angry. So, my mom told me to take a breath and count to ten. When I finished counting I'd ask myself, do i want to get in trouble tonight? When I realized I didn't want to get into trouble or yelled at, I'd avoid doing the things I know I shouldn't."

Savia nods her head. "So I'm in trouble?"

"Yeah, kid. You glued three students to their chairs. Blue might be able to get them to lift the suspension, because it was your very first day, but I think you're still going to be talked to by her." Echo nods. "No more pranks at school, okay? If they bother you again, tell an adult. And no more hiding under the bed, at least wait until homework is done and you've had dinner okay?"

Savia sighs with a nod. "Okay."

"Good, now I have to run to work, you need to get your homework done. But if you need anything-"

"Your cell and work number are on the fridge." Salvia finished with a nod. "I know."

"Good. Get your homework done, kid." Echo pats her head. "I'll check in after work." She gets up before teleporting away.

Savia pouted for a moment, then got up and started on her homework. How was she supposed to show her face at school now? Those girls would just be mean to her again, especially with her protective spell knocking them back. She expects the girls to bother her a lot more, not less.

So she takes a break from her school work and draws not nice pictures of the girls. Chopped off heads, setting them on fire, hanging them. The drawings were a bit darker than normal, results of her demonic side trying to break through this spell.

But at least all of that violence was just on paper.
